The built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot turns your vehicle into a reliable mobile hub, with great signal quality and bandwidth. It provides a better in-vehicle experience than your smartphone. When you press the Onstar button on the panel, you have Wi-Fi settings there. So just like the router in your house you’re going to get a Wi-Fi hot spot name and then it does have a passcode. You can connect up to seven devices to your Wi-Fi hot spot in the vehicle. But you can only access it if you have that password. So you don’t have to worry about the person in the car next to you stealing your your devices and getting in there.

So once you have that information then it’s just a matter of connecting the tablet so you could have each kid could have a tablet or a phone. How do you connect to the Wi-Fi Hotspot ?
1- Before you start make sure your vehicle is running, or its ignition is switched to the “accessory” position. Open the Wi-Fi settings page to find information you’ll need for connecting to the Wi-Fi hotspot. To get your hotspot name (SSID) and password, tap the Wi-Fi Settings icon on the main menu screen, or press the voice command button and say “Wi-Fi Settings.”
2- Take note of both the SSID or network name and the password listed on screen. Both of these are key for connecting devices to the Wi-Fi hotspot. It’s a good idea to change the network name and password to something that’s easier for your family to remember, you can do that changes through the available myGMC mobile app, or by pushing the blue OnStar button in your GMC and speaking with an advisor.
3-For using your mobile device, search for available wireless networks on your device and select your vehicle’s SSID/ network name when listed. Enter the password when prompted.
4. Your device is now connected. Your GMC’s 4G LTE connection is always on and will automatically connect to your mobile devices. To manage your vehicle’s Wi-Fi hotspot, be sure to sign up for data usage alerts. You’re now ready to connect up to seven devices connected simultaneously.
The vehicle ignition needs to be in the “Run” or “Accessory” position for the Wi-Fi Hotspot to be active.
